Come See Us at The Tucson Festival of Books
It’s our favorite season in the Old Pueblo — spring flowers are blooming, the weather is beautiful, the Wildcats are off to the Big Dance, and it’s time for The Tucson Festival of Books, everybody’s favorite gathering for two days of books, food, music, learning, and shopping. Rio Nuevo (booth 110) and Treasure Chest Books (booth 113) will be there once again with a full schedule of author signings and some great deals on our catalog of books. In addition, several of our authors will be reading, signing, or doing workshops. Check out the schedule below.

If you’ve never been to the festival, you’re in for two days of literary delights. The festival, all of the workshops, and the parking are free, and everything happens in the center of the University of Arizona campus. See the map here. Our booths are on the west end near the Arizona Daily Star tent and across from the Student Union.
The festival was established to support literacy in southern Arizona, and since 2009 has donated more than one million dollars to literacy organizations including Reading Seed, Literacy Connects and University of Arizona Literacy Outreach Programs. More than 350 authors participate in presentations and workshops during the weekend, attracting an enthusiastic and diverse audience. There’s something for everyone at the Tucson Festival of Books — programming for children and teens, panels by best-selling and emerging authors, a literary circus, culturally diverse programs, a poetry venue, exhibitor booths, and two food courts.

Legends of the West: Cochise, Charles Poston, and Tom Horn
The authors will discuss three larger-than-life personalities who lived during Arizona’s territorial period. Cochise was a skilled leader of the Chiricahua Apaches, respected even by his enemies; Charles Poston was an explorer, mining investor, and politician, known as “the father of Arizona” because he lobbied for the creation of the Arizona territory; and Tom Horn was an army scout, Pinkerton detective, and hired gun. Authors Larry Ball, Gilbert Storms, Edwin R. Sweeney, moderated by Jim Turner.
